Some weeks fly by in the blink of an eye 👀

This week especially took me by the reins as we had to submit our first faculty review. It’s always a little off-putting having to hear back your own voice for asynchronous presentations, especially when you can hear the shutter in your cadence as nerves break through. I guess what doesn’t kill you makes you… stronger? Not exactly feeling that strength quite yet but at least I’m keeping my head held high.

I’ve already received initial comments on my proposal that will help my dive into the research process of my capstone and am feeling really grateful for the critiques on how to narrow the project scope. My problem space revolves around trying to get younger people involved in photography in the digital age. Some of the current feedback asks the question of the project’s achievability. I still need time to narrow down the landscape and outreach, and this week I’ve been researching existing benchmarks that explore accessibility to photography and promoting image-making. From hand-held composition prompts to informative video series, photographic literacy is encouraged in any and all forms. The sheer amount of formats I’ve come across in presenting information is inspiring and has definitely helped me get the gears turning as I move forward into the research stage.
